An American company dating back to 1966, it was not until the late 1980’s that this company really did reach the height of its fame whereby they were more used on live stages. Today the Ovation Guitar Company is still hugely popular but more for the musicians playing in the studio.

Charles Kaman, who built the first Ovation Guitar, used his engineering experience to help him develop a rounded bowl back which he thought would help to improve the sound as it came through the guitar.

Many of their guitars that were produced in the 1980’s have since ended up in the possession of collectors as they are deemed to be quite rare given the fact that they were not mass produced so not many were in population.

Some of the top and most famous musicians have all shown their love for their Ovation Guitars, Shania Twain is amongst the names as are Bryan May and the late Freddie Mercury, all of whom were great fans of the ovation guitars.
