Bass Guitar
Created in the 1950’s the acoustic bass guitars are now a very popular choice although it was not until the early 1960’s that the acoustic bass guitar really came into its own. They are used by a wide variety of musicians, from Jazz to metal and even pop, making these instruments quite unique in their sounds, with its deep hollow body, it is not too different from the steel-string acoustic guitar, although it is always larger.
Although you may find a few acoustic bass guitars that are fretless, they are mostly usually fretted. There are in fact semi-fretted versions in these guitars but they are very difficult to find. In fact Bill Wyman from the famous Rolling Stones actually made the first fretless bass guitar back in 1961.
The Liverpool band, the Beatles, played the acoustic bass guitars at the height of their fame in the 60,s. People like the warm and rich sound that the acoustic bass makes, these are very versatile guitars in that they can be played for any occasion and will always rise to the challenge, although it can be very difficult to hear an acoustic bass guitar without the use of an amplifier.
